You guys, it’s been a long week! It’s finally Friday and I’m looking forward to a fun filled weekend! My pay it forward this week is to kick off the holiday season. This year I’m feeling especially grateful for pretty much everything and decided instead of exchanging gifts with friends and their kids, I proposed that we all make donations to charities. None of us or our children need anything, we’re all pretty blessed in the “stuff” category, so why not give it to others who really do need it? I want to do this every year going forward.
OK, so with that little back story, meet Hannah, she’s a 17 year old cancer survivor, diagnosed at age 14 with osteosarcoma, from Florida. She will continue to be tested and live with her diagnosis for the rest of her life yet this special young lady has been giving back to the kids at Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville since she was diagnosed. She is campaigning to raise funds to purchase blankets and pillow pets for the kids who are currently in the hospital receiving treatment because these things were her security when she was there getting hers. Her goal is to raise enough funds to be able to purchase 240 sets of blankets and pillow pets for the kids at Wolfson’s. The cost of 1 set is $25, she needs $6,000. The comfort it will bring a sick child battling a horrific disease is priceless.
Hannah is a true example of a fighter and she is an even better example of a giver. Brighten a holiday for a child fighting for their life, and be thankful for yours.
Thanks, have a great weekend!!
